Fire Fighters Tag to Support New Charity Foundation
The Jacksonville Association of Fire Fighters are launching a campaign to promote the "Florida Salutes Fire Fighters" license tag. The tag is available to the public and is a great way to show support for your local fire fighters and paramedics.
With your purchase of the "Florida Salutes Fire Fighters" tag, a portion of the money is donated to the March of Dimes, an organization dedicated to fighting premature births, low birth weight, birth defects, and infant mortality.
A recent article from the October 14th Florida Times Union quotes a recent report revealing that Jacksonville has an infant death rate that rivals many third world nations. In 2008, the rate was 9.7 deaths for every 1,000 live births.
Your purchase of the "Florida Salutes Fire Fighters" will go to the March of Dimes through a contribution to the newly formed Jacksonville Fire Fighter Charities, a new charitable foundation established to help add to the $200,000 raised yearly for local charities by your Jacksonville Fire Fighters. In addition to the March of Dimes, other charities include The Muscular Dystrophy Association, Camp Amigo, Empowered Parents, Florida's Fallen Heroes, The Wounded Warrior Project, and most recently, the Jacksonville Miracle League.
The Jacksonville Association of Fire Fighters would like to thank the great people of Jacksonville for their support of our charities during these tough economic times
